Collegiate Pankration is a division of the World Pankration Federation. The WPF formed this division for university athletic teams to network and participate in WPF events and tournaments. This will provide students all over the country the opportunity to compete in pankration tournaments under an organization that is dedicated to the continuing development of pankration in the spirit of honor, integrity and fair competition.

The first university pankration club/team was the Mizzou Pankration Team (above) from the University of Missouri-Columbia. This photo was taken after the first tournament of the semester (Feb, 2002). The team dominated the tournament and won 1st Place in team winnings. Every member won 1st, 2nd or 3rd in their division. Read article in Pankration Magazine here
Member teams will be able to participate in monthly WPF events in their region or the chance to travel the country to events held in other states, Canada and Mexico. Local, regional, national and international tournaments will be held at sponsoring universities.
Universities lead the example of the classical Greek blend of intellectual education and athletic training. Universities provide excellent facilities and events will be organized by student organizations who are not interested in making an easy dollar. Pankration is growing rapidly and universities provide the ideal setting and example for the future of the sport.
